Zukmo makes it easier to bookmark and reference items from almost any device with internet access. While traditional bookmarks work, they can be a bit cumbersome and rely heavily on the user to come up with an effective organizational approach each time they save a URL. Zukmo has simplified the process by giving users a tool that can do it all for them. The user adds an item to bookmark through Zukmo and the application stores it and automatically indexes and categorizes it. The user can quickly find it later through Zukmo’s search function. Zukmo was founded in 2010 by Vembu Labs (a part of Vembu Technologies). Vembu Technologies was founded in July of 2004. Currently based out of Chennai, India, the company consists of nearly 100 employees, including CEO Sekar Vembu and Vice President Kumar Krishnasami. Vembu Technologies has received many awards for its creations and continues to improve its offerings through applications like Zukmo.
At some point, almost every regular internet users needs to use their bookmark system. For many this is a simple process with limited capabilities. Zukmo gives users an easy to use solution that can save time and make organizing much easier. The user only has to add a URL and Zukmo handles the often tedious task of organizing and making that URL searchable for future reference.
Zukmo uses a pleasing green and blue color scheme with full color icons and stylish graphics. The site is well organized and looks professional. Using Zukmo is very easy, requiring only a single click to add content. Zukmo can even automate content collecting from social networking websites, further simplifying the user’s experience.
Visitors who wish to become Zukmo users can click on the green “Create an account” button on the homepage. This takes the user to the registration form. In the right hand column, the user is given the option of logging in through a Twitter or Facebook account. Those who do not wish to use their social networking profiles can enter an email address and password then click the blue “Create Account” button at the bottom of the form. After submitting the information, the user is asked to check their email inbox for a verification link which must be clicked to complete registration.
Anyone can create a Zukmo account for free. There are no subscription fees or any other fees associated with the application. Zukmo is currently in an alpha status, so this may change in the future. At the moment, the application is available for free with no indication that this will change in the near future.
